You might be wondering, what kind of a crazy lady starts up a travel business right during the Covid Pandemic?!?! Well let me tell you about myself, my name is Kara Alley. I am a mother of two (mostly) grown children, a wife of more than 20 years and for a good chunk of time, a stay at home mom. I’ve always loved to travel, I was fortunate that as a kid my parents valued and prioritized travel, but always on a budget. As I became an adult my love for adventure blossomed. I wanted to go to Bali for our honeymoon, not the Bahamas. We went to Costa Rica, met friends in Las Vegas, took our kids on Disney Cruises, took our parents on cruises, enjoyed some all inclusive and most importantly - made amazing memories and bonded with our family in new ways.

During Covid I was chatting with a friend about different travel regulations in different countries; who required testing, quarantine, insurance and what to do if heaven forbid you get sick away from home! I had been feeling so stir crazy by that point I’d already planned imaginary trips to all kinds of places! I surprised myself by how much I was able to help her make some upcoming travel decisions. It felt great, I felt useful and connected at a time where we were isolated and alone and I loved it! It felt like this indulgent dream of things to come once the world opened up again.

From that point on things snowballed, I became a certified travel advisor and started taking on clients. I wanted to learn as much as I possibly could about each travel brand. I started to wonder about friends and family that had difficult traveling situations, a family of 5, a family with a special needs child, a family with a severe allergy. I didn’t just want any client, I wanted challenging trips that felt impossible. I wanted to make peoples dreams come true and do it within a budget that they could feel good about. I started researching vendors, finding locals that are passionate about where they live, historians that were engaging teachers. I started keeping track of my favorite out of the way, hole in the wall gems that go above and beyond to make people happy. At a time when we were all feeling alone, I was beginning to feel connected to the world in a new and special way. And the rest is history…
